Dreams Don't Sleep [Patrick Stump] .03
Molly grabs a couple slices of banana from the napkin I have them on before turning to me.
"You remember that I can't watch them for the next couple days, right?" She says, weakly smiling at me.
"Of
course I remember. It's fine that you want to go to New York to see
your family. I mean, the state is just next door," I laugh lightly,
"And anyway, I'm sure my co-workers miss the little ones, so bringing
them to work with me isn't a big deal."
"Good," She sighs
lightly, taking more banana segments, "I'm sorry that I'm leaving on
kind of short notice, but my mom's getting remarried and she wants me
to be there. You would think that after the first three remarriages
that she wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't there, but noooo." She rolls
her eyes sarcastically, smiling slightly.
"Believe me, it's no
biggie. I just have to start getting ready for work now." I inform her,
finishing up the banana and walking towards my bathroom once she nods.
I
take a ten-minute shower and quickly pull on a nice purple, kind of
short, skirt with a white, kind of lacey, shirt. I slip on my purple
flats and brush my hair quickly, adding a purple hair bow and a touch
of black eyeliner. I'm so glad the Inn isn't a fancy workplace so I can
wear things like this without having to be super business like.
Before
I grab my purse, making sure it's full of the things I need like my
cell phone and a few slips of paperwork, I kiss my three baby's goodbye.
I get into my Honda Civic Hybrid and start driving to work. Hating the silence of my car, I turn on the radio fairly loud.
Where is your boy tonight? I hope he is a gentleman-
Patrick's voice starts. I sigh lightly and change the station.
Sugar, we're going down swinging! I'll be your number one with a bullet!
His
voice sings perfectly. I sigh again and simply turn off the radio all
together, wanting to drive in silence over hearing him sing.
Fifteen
minutes later, I pull into the parking lot of the Dragonfly Inn. I grab
my purse and walk in, seeing the normal amount of guests roaming
around, chatting away with each other and enjoying their time here.
I
stride up to Michael at the front desk and stick my purse in the cubby
underneath the desk. I grin at him and nudge his side gently with my
elbow as he lazily types random information on the computer in front of
him.
"Good morning Julia." He says, smiling lightly at me.
"Morning
to you too, Mike. Hey, have you been ignoring the phone?" I ask,
raising an eyebrow when I remember that Spencer said no one answered
the phone when he called here.
"It was ringing earlier, but I
missed it because I was helping a guest with scheduling special dinner
plans. We've got a proposal on our hands." He laughs lightly, nodding
over to the cute young couple walking towards the stairs to their room.
"All right, because Spencer called me at home this morning, saying that no one answered here."
"Oh! Are the Panic! boys coming back for a while?" He asks with enthusiasm, one of his favorite bands is Panic! At the Disco.
"Yeah, they want to come to write their new album."
"When are they going to come?" He asks, opening a screen on the computer to enter reservations.
"The first three weeks of June they said." I tell him, flipping through a few pages of paperwork on the desk.
The
day quickly passes by without too many disruptions. When dinner
arrives, I smile as I see our chef, Gabe, sticking an engagement ring
on top of a cupcake that looks simply delicious.
Michael,
Gabe and I watch from the door of the dining room as the young couple I
saw earlier smile at each other. The young blonde girl accepts her
cupcake from the young black-haired boy. She looks down at it with a
curious look, and immediately she squeals loudly, throwing her arms
around his neck and kissing him.
I'm guessing she said yes.
Finally the day is over! I grab my purse from behind the desk and
say goodbye to Gabe, who's finishing up a surprise cake for the lucky
newly engaged couple that we're going to give them tomorrow.
I
climb into my car and sigh lightly. I drive back home in the twilight,
not wanting to dare and turn on the radio just incase they feel like
continuously torturing me with Patrick's amazing voice.
Fifteen
minutes later I'm pulling into my apartment parking lot and climbing up
the stairs to the second story, where I live. I open the door, and
slightly to my surprise, I find Molly sitting by herself on the living
room couch.
"Where are the munchkins?" I ask, sitting next to
her. Normally the trio stays up until I get home, even though between
seven to eight o'clock is kind of late for three-year-olds to be
staying up.
"They fell asleep early today. Six-thirty as a
matter of fact." She laughs lightly. I smile and give her a hug before
walking to the kitchen and grabbing a few slices of cheese from the
fridge for my dinner. I don't eat much it seems like, right? Well,
that's only if I come home past eight. Normally I'll have an actual
dinner. Most of the time I can get off early enough to have dinner with
my kids and Molly.
Sighing lightly, I sit on the edge of my bed and look over at the second one against the wall where Asia is sleeping quietly.
I
quickly change into a pair of black shorts and a white tank top, but
before I'm able to climb into bed, I hear Asia mumble something. I turn
to look at her and she's sitting up, rubbing her tired eyes with her
fists. I walk over to her and sit on the edge of her bed.
"Baby, what are you doing up? You should be asleep." I say softly as she looks up at me with her big, gorgeous brown eyes.
"I
hath another dreamth abouth daddy," She starts yawning lightly, "Mommy,
where ith daddy?" I bite the inside of my lip and look out the window
for a second before deciding to reply.
"Daddy is on a vacation, baby."
"Wath a vakathon?"
"A vacation is where someone leaves and doesn't come back" I lie to her softly, forcing myself not to get emotional.
"Oh."
She simply replies, rubbing her tired little eyes and slowly falling
asleep. I take a deep breath and crawl into my bed, another night with
Patrick on my mind. I smile to myself as I think about the last time
that I saw him. He was with the other Fall Out Boy's on TRL and they
were talking about the new album they were planning on writing.
He
looked so adorable because he tripped over himself while they walked
onstage, causing him to turn a light shade of red that I don't think
many other people noticed. He was wearing a hat, like always, and a
Clandestine hoodie. I remember the hoodie so well, because I have the
same exact one. Gray with purple pockets where the BartSkull is
repeated.
I close my eyes, picturing Patrick's smile as we
continuously stole glances from each other during lunch at the Inn,
they same day we told each other we liked the other. He was so
adorable, he got jealous when Joe put his arm around my shoulders and
played with my hair, kissing my neck lightly and making me giggle, due
to a dare from Pete.
